About These Terms
We are BUCHANAN STUDIO LTD (company registration number 09740585) with our registered office at Buspace Studios, Conlan Street, London, England, W10 5AP.
These terms and conditions set out the basis on which we supply our products to you.
Please read them carefully before placing your order.
SECTION 1: ORDERS
Order acceptance
Once you place an order, we will acknowledge receipt and subsequently confirm acceptance (or, alternatively, acceptance will occur when your product is dispatched).
We take payment at the point of order; however, payment does not constitute order confirmation.
Orders may occasionally be declined- for example, if an item becomes unexpectedly out of stock or has been mispriced. Should this occur, we will notify you promptly and refund any sums paid.
Please ensure all information submitted with your order (including delivery details) is correct.
Product variations
Our products are crafted in England by highly skilled artisans. Many items are handmade, and natural variation forms part of their character and appeal. As such, colour and final appearance may differ slightly from images shown, and no two products will be completely identical.
Images on our website or otherwise shared with you are illustrative only; screen display settings may affect colour perception.
All sizes and measurements are provided with a tolerance of 3cm for furniture and 3-5cm for fabrics.
Linen
Some pieces are upholstered in 100% linen. Printed linen will naturally fade over time; following our care instructions can help slow this process.
As part of our production process for our printed linens, the cloth is sanforised to soften the natural fibres, and a degree of shrinkage or relaxation is expected. Because of this, small variations in pattern repeat and overall dimensions can occur- please therefore allow for a tolerance of +/- 3-5%. If your project requires precise pattern matching, we recommend checking a sample or contacting us for batch-specific measurements.
Fabrics
Fabric batches may vary subtly. If required, we recommend requesting a cutting for approval.
Fabric ordered at different times may derive from different batches. If you need a specific order to match a previous one, please contact us- while we will endeavour to assist, we cannot guarantee stock availability.
Measurements
If your order is made to measurements provided by you, you are responsible for ensuring their accuracy.
Your materials
If you supply materials to us, you remain responsible for their quality and suitability.
SECTION 2: DELIVERY / COLLECTION
Delivery Process
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email and tracking number.
Fabric, cushion and candle orders typically dispatch within 2–3 working days.
For furniture pieces, we will contact you directly to arrange a convenient delivery time.
Items in a single order cannot be delivered to multiple addresses. If delivery to more than one address is required, separate orders must be placed.
Orders containing multiple products may dispatch separately as items become available. If you prefer consolidated shipping, please contact shop@buchanan.studio.
Any lead times displayed on our website are indicative only.
White Glove Delivery
Delivery estimates shown on our website refer to curb-side delivery, unless otherwise stated.
If you would like to upgrade to a white-glove service, please contact shop@buchanan.studio and we will advise you of any additional charges.
International Delivery
For international shipments, we use UPS for fabric and Convelio for larger items.
For deliveries outside the UK, import duties, taxes and associated charges may apply, payable directly by you before your order is released from customs.
These charges are outside our control and cannot be predicted in advance.
For further information, please contact your local customs office prior to ordering.
Collection
If you prefer to collect your order from our London studio/showroom, please select ‘customer own collection’ at checkout. We will contact you to arrange a suitable collection time.
Due to limited space, all orders must be collected within 2 weeks. Thereafter, storage charges may apply or the order may be cancelled.
Large or Heavy Items
Certain furniture pieces are large or heavy and require specialist delivery and installation.
At checkout, no delivery fee will be added; instead, we will contact you to arrange delivery and installation. Charges will depend on your location and access requirements.
If you decide not to proceed at that stage, your order will be cancelled and refunded in full.
Delivery and Installation Access
Before ordering, please confirm that the product can be safely delivered into the property, including through all access points such as doorways, corridors and staircases.
Ensuring safe and reasonable access is your responsibility.
Additional charges may apply if requested access information is missing or incorrect- for example, if an alternative vehicle, additional personnel, or rescheduling becomes necessary.
SECTION 3: OUR PHOTOGRAPHS AND MARKETING
All content on this website is owned by us or our licensors and may not be reused without our consent.
You may share our photographs for non-commercial purposes only, provided you link back to our website or tag us on social media.
Our products are supplied strictly for private and domestic use.
You may not:
use our products in commercial marketing or advertising, or
resell our products on a commercial basis.
SECTION 4: REFUNDS
Your legal right to change your mind
For most products purchased online, you have a legal right to change your mind within certain limits and receive a refund of the purchase price (excluding delivery costs), subject to the conditions below.
When you cannot change your mind
You cannot cancel an order for:
products that are custom-made or made to your specification;
products sealed for hygiene reasons once unsealed;
made-to-order furniture;
fabric cuttings.
Cancellation period
You must notify us of your intention to cancel within 14 days from the day your product is delivered.

Returning the product
You must return the product within 14 days of notifying us.
Returns are made at your own cost.
For larger items, we may, at our discretion, arrange collection; a collection charge will apply.
Delivery costs
Delivery charges are non-refundable due to the use of specialist couriers.
Refund adjustments
If a product has been handled beyond what would reasonably be permitted in-store, we may deduct an appropriate amount to reflect any reduction in value.
Refund timing
If your product has not yet been delivered, or if we are collecting it: we will refund you within 14 days of your cancellation notice.
If you are returning the product to us: we will refund you within 14 days of receiving it (or receiving evidence that it has been returned).
Refunds are issued using the original payment method.
SECTION 5: FAULTS
If you believe your product is faulty, please contact shop@buchanan.studio.
Where a fault is confirmed, the product must be returned to us.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
SECTION 6: CHANGES TO YOUR ORDER
Changes we may make
We may make changes to the products or to your order.
If we do so, we will notify you, and you may cancel the contract before the change takes effect and receive a refund for any products paid for but not yet received.
Ending the contract
We may end the contract if:
you do not make payment when due;
you do not provide necessary information, cooperation or access;
you do not enable delivery or collection within a reasonable timeframe.
If we end the contract in these circumstances, we may deduct a reasonable contribution toward costs already incurred (for example, if production has begun).
SECTION 7: LIABILITY
We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
breach of your statutory rights.
We are responsible only for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to exercise reasonable care.
Subject to applicable law, our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the invoiced value of the products.
We are not liable for business losses. Our products are supplied for domestic and private use only.
If supply of a product is delayed due to an event outside our control, we will contact you as soon as possible, but are not liable for such delays.
Our products are made in England to English standards; we cannot guarantee compliance with standards outside the UK.
SECTION 8: PERSONAL DATA
Details of how we use your personal data are set out in our Privacy Notice.
SECTION 9: OUR WEBSITE
Our website is provided on an “as is” basis.
We may suspend or withdraw the site at any time and do not guarantee that it will be secure or free from bugs or viruses.
You must not use the website for any purpose other than browsing and purchasing our products.
In particular, you must not conduct or permit any text or data mining, or any form of web scraping, including for the development or training of AI systems or models.
SECTION 10: OTHER TERMS
Complaints
If you wish to make a complaint, please contact shop@buchanan.studio.
Transfer of contract
We may transfer our contract with you to another organisation.
You may transfer your contract with us only with our consent.
Third-party rights
This contract is between you and us; no third party has rights to enforce any term.
If part of the contract is invalid
If a court determines that part of these terms is unlawful, the remainder will continue to apply.
Delay in enforcement
A delay in enforcing any right under this contract does not prevent us enforcing it at a later date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by English law, and legal proceedings regarding the products may only be brought in the English courts.
